Agogo is a town located in the Asante Akim North Municipal District within the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It is situated approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) east of Kumasi, which serves as the capital of the Ashanti Region.
The population of Agogo was recorded at 28,271 during the 2000 census. Subsequent computer projections estimated the population to be 32,859 for the 2007 census.
