Weymouth is a seaside town and civil parish located in the Dorset district of Dorset, England. It sits on a sheltered bay at the mouth of the River Wey, approximately 7 miles (11 km) south of Dorchester, the county town of Dorset. As of the 2021 census, Weymouth had a population of 53,416, making it the third-largest settlement in Dorset after Bournemouth and Poole.

The town's location on a protected bay along the English coast has made it a notable seaside destination. Its position at the river mouth and sheltered waters have historically influenced its development and character as a coastal community in southern England.
