Tipton

United Kingdom

Tipton is a town in the West Midlands region of England, located in the historic county of Staffordshire. It lies within the metropolitan borough of Dudley and forms part of the wider Black Country industrial area.

The town developed significantly during the Industrial Revolution as a center of metal manufacturing and engineering. Tipton's economy was historically built on the production of chain, nails, locks, and other metalwork, industries that characterized the Black Country throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Like much of the industrial Midlands, the town has undergone economic restructuring following the decline of heavy manufacturing.

Tipton is situated between Dudley and Wolverhampton and is well-connected by road and rail infrastructure serving the broader West Midlands conurbation.
