Muhos is a municipality in northern Finland, located in the Northern Ostrobothnia region. It lies in the province of Oulu, approximately 35 kilometres (about half an hour's drive) along route 22 from the city of Oulu, the capital of Northern Finland.
The municipality has a population of 8,767 and covers an area of 797.26 square kilometres (307.82 sq mi), of which 13.78 square kilometres (5.32 sq mi) is water. Its population density is 11.17 inhabitants per square kilometre (28.9/sq mi).
