Virrat is a town and municipality located in the Pirkanmaa region of Finland. It is situated approximately 104 kilometers north of Tampere, 113 kilometers west of Jyväskylä, and 285 kilometers from the capital city of Helsinki.
The municipality covers an area of 1,299.07 square kilometers, of which 136.73 square kilometers is water. As of December 31, 2025, the town has a population of 6,126 residents, resulting in a population density of 5.27 inhabitants per square kilometer. The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
