Nokia is a town located in the Pirkanmaa region of Finland. Situated on the banks of the Nokianvirta river within the Kokemäki River watershed, it sits in the Tampere metropolitan area approximately 15 kilometers west of the city of Tampere.
The municipality has a population of roughly 37,000 residents. It ranks as the 33rd most populous municipality in Finland and is the second largest municipality in the Pirkanmaa region, following Tampere.
