Saerkisalo

Finland

Särkisalo is a former municipality of Finland, located mostly on the island of Särkisalo in the Southwest Finland region. It was consolidated with the city of Salo on January 1, 2009, and has since formed part of Salo rather than existing as a separate municipality.

Before the merger, Särkisalo bordered four neighbouring municipalities: Ekenäs, Kimito, Perniö and Västanfjärd. Its territory was concentrated on the island that shares its name, reflecting the archipelago character of this part of Southwest Finland.
