Villajoyosa, also known as la Vila Joiosa, is a coastal town and municipality situated in the southern part of the Valencian Community in Spain. Located along the Mediterranean Sea, it sits within the province of Alicante (Alacant). The name translates to "The Joyful Town" in both Spanish and Valencian.
The town serves as the historic and administrative capital of the Marina Baixa region. Locally, residents commonly refer to the municipality simply as la Vila.
