Vall de Gallinera

Spain

La Vall de Gallinera is a valley and municipality in the north-east of the province of Alicante, Spain. It forms part of the Marina Alta comarca, a district in the northern part of the province.

The municipality is made up of eight small settlements: Benirrama, Benialí, Benissivà, Benitaia, Carroja, Alpatró, Llombai and Benissili. Together these nuclei constitute a single municipality rather than separate administrative units. The combined population of the whole municipality is around 600.

Its defining feature is its character as a valley, with the scattered settlements distributed across the terrain that gives the municipality its name. The valley setting and the grouping of several small population centres into one municipality are the most notable characteristics of the area.
