Real de Montroi

Spain

Real de Montroi is a municipality in the comarca of Ribera Alta, in the Valencian Community of eastern Spain. It lies inland in the province of Valencia, within the Ribera Alta district that occupies part of the valley of the Júcar river.

The town is one of the smaller municipalities of the comarca, set in a predominantly agricultural landscape typical of the Valencian interior, where irrigation from the Júcar and its canal system supports cultivation of citrus and other crops. Its name is often written as "Real" or "Real de Montroi", the latter distinguishing it from other places sharing the name.

Like other settlements in the Ribera Alta, Real de Montroi is linked to the wider Valencia region by road and is within commuting distance of the provincial capital, Valencia, to the east. The municipality retains the compact historic core and surrounding farmland characteristic of Valencian towns in this part of the comarca.
