Planes is a municipality in Spain, located in the Comtat region of the Valencian Community. It lies in the eastern part of the country, within the province of Alicante.
The settlement is described as a hamlet, indicating a small and sparsely populated place within its municipal boundaries. It sits in the Comtat, an inland comarca of the Valencian Community whose landscape and settlements are distinct from the coastal resorts for which the region is better known.
