Montroy

Spain

Montroi (also spelled Montroy) is a municipality in the comarca of Ribera Alta, within the Valencian Community of eastern Spain. It lies in the province of Valencia, in the Ribera Alta district that occupies the valley of the Júcar river to the south and west of the city of Valencia.

The municipality is one of the smaller settlements of the Ribera Alta, a predominantly agricultural comarca known for its citrus groves and irrigated farmland. Like other towns in the area, Montroi has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters.

Montroi is situated inland from the Gulf of Valencia, within the broader Valencia region whose capital is the city of Valencia. The Valencian Community is one of Spain's seventeen autonomous communities, and both Valencian and Spanish are recognised within it.
