Jávea (also known as Xàbia) is a coastal town and municipality located in the Marina Alta comarca within the province of Alicante, in the Valencia region of Spain. Situated along the Mediterranean Sea, the town sits on the side of the Montgó Massif, positioned behind a wide bay and sheltered between two rocky headlands.
The area has developed into a popular market town and small seaside resort. It is characterized by a high proportion of international residents and visitors; approximately half of its resident population and over two-thirds of its annual visitors are foreigners.
