Gilet is a municipality in the Valencian Community of eastern Spain. It lies within the comarca (district) of Camp de Morvedre, in the province of Valencia.
The town is situated in the northern part of the province of Valencia, in a comarca whose administrative centre is the coastal city of Sagunto. Camp de Morvedre occupies a stretch of the Valencian coast and its adjacent inland hills, between the city of Valencia to the south and the province of Castellón to the north.
As a Valencian municipality, Gilet forms part of the local administrative structure of the Valencian Community, one of Spain's seventeen autonomous communities. The Valencian Community is officially bilingual, with Valencian and Spanish both recognised, and its municipalities are grouped into comarcas for certain administrative and statistical purposes.
