Fuentes de Ayódar is a municipality in the comarca of Alto Mijares, in the province of Castellón, within the Valencia region of Spain. It is one of the small inland settlements that make up the Alto Mijares district, a predominantly rural area of the Valencian Community.
The municipality is located in the interior of the province of Castellón, in eastern Spain. As a municipality, it forms the basic unit of local administration in Spain, with its own local government.
Fuentes de Ayódar is part of the Valencian Community, an autonomous community on Spain's eastern Mediterranean coast whose capital is the city of Valencia. The Valencia region is officially bilingual, with both Valencian and Spanish recognised.
