Cirat

Spain

Cirat is a municipality in the Valencian Community of eastern Spain, located in the province of Castellón. It is the capital of the Alto Mijares comarca, a largely rural and mountainous district in the province's interior.

The municipality has a population of approximately 240 residents, making it a small and sparsely populated settlement typical of Spain's inland Valencian villages. As the administrative seat of Alto Mijares, Cirat serves as a local centre for the surrounding area.

Cirat lies within the Valencia region, whose official status and institutions are recognised under Spanish law. Its role as comarcal capital distinguishes it within the Alto Mijares district, though it remains modest in size and population.
