Càlig is a municipality in the comarca of Baix Maestrat, in the Valencian Community of eastern Spain. It lies in the province of Castellón, in the northern part of the region near the Mediterranean coast.
The town is one of several small municipalities that make up the Baix Maestrat, a district whose administrative centre is the coastal town of Vinaròs. Like much of this part of the Valencian Community, the area around Càlig is historically associated with the Kingdom of Valencia and the wider Catalan-speaking territories, and Valencian is spoken alongside Spanish.
Càlig is a landlocked inland settlement rather than a coastal resort, set in the low-lying countryside characteristic of the Baix Maestrat. It is best known simply as a quiet traditional municipality within this comarca, and it does not rank among the region's major tourist destinations.
