Benagéber is a municipality in the comarca of Los Serranos, within the Valencian Community of eastern Spain. It lies in the province of Valencia, in the interior part of the region rather than on the coast.
The town is part of Los Serranos, a comarca characterised by its inland, mountainous terrain in the northwest of the province. Like other municipalities in the Valencian Community, it is administered as a local entity within Spain's system of autonomous communities and provinces.
Benagéber is best known for the reservoir that bears its name, the Embalse de Benagéber, on the Turia river, which supplies water to the city of Valencia and its surrounding area. The original village was submerged when the reservoir was created in the mid-twentieth century, and the present settlement was rebuilt on higher ground nearby.
