Almudaina is a municipality in the Valencian Community of eastern Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Comtat, an inland district in the northern part of Alicante province.
The town is one of the smaller settlements of the Comtat, a largely rural comarca whose landscape is shaped by the mountains and valleys of the interior of the region. Like other municipalities in the area, it is administered as a separate local entity within the Valencian Community, one of Spain's seventeen autonomous communities.
Almudaina is not to be confused with other places bearing the same or similar names, including the Almudaina Palace in Palma de Mallorca. The Valencian municipality is a distinct and much smaller locality, defined chiefly by its administrative status within the Comtat comarca.
