Alfauir is a municipality in the comarca of Safor, within the Valencian Community of eastern Spain. It is one of the smaller settlements of the Safor district, a coastal and inland area centred on the town of Gandia in the province of Valencia.
The municipality sits in the northern part of the Safor comarca, in a landscape of low hills and irrigated valleys typical of this part of the Valencian Community. Like other towns in the region, it is historically linked to the surrounding agricultural land and to the wider Safor area, whose economy and settlement patterns have long been shaped by Mediterranean farming.
Alfauir is administered as a municipality in its own right, with local government responsibilities typical of Spanish municipal councils. Detailed information on its population, monuments, and history is limited in readily available sources, and the town remains relatively little known outside the Valencian Community.
