Ea is a town and municipality in the province of Biscay, within the autonomous community of the Basque Country in northern Spain. It is one of the smaller coastal municipalities of the province, situated on the Bay of Biscay.
The town lies in the region known as Busturialdea, along the estuary of the Ea river, which gives the municipality its name. Like other settlements on this stretch of the Biscayan coast, it developed around a small harbour and is characterised by narrow streets and low buildings typical of the area.
Ea is administered as a municipality in its own right, with its local government based in the town itself. It forms part of the wider comarca of Busturialdea-Urdaibai, a coastal area of Biscay that includes the Urdaibai estuary and biosphere reserve.
