Berriatua is a town and municipality in the province of Biscay, within the autonomous community of the Basque Country in northern Spain. It lies near the Bay of Biscay, bordered by Ondarroa and the bay to the north, Markina-Xemein to the south, Mutriku to the east, and Amoroto and Mendexa to the west.
Historically, Berriatua was a farming town with little industry. In recent times it has experienced significant industrial growth along with considerable construction activity.
