Aulesti is a town and municipality in the province of Biscay, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country in northern Spain. It lies in the region of Lea-Artibai, roughly 44 kilometres (27 miles) from Bilbao, the capital of Biscay.
The municipality is one of the smaller settlements of the Lea-Artibai area, a rural and coastal district of Biscay. Its position places it within the Basque Country's inland landscape rather than on the coast, at a moderate distance from the provincial capital.
