Ataun is a town in the Goierri region of the province of Gipuzkoa, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country in northern Spain. It lies at the foot of the Aralar Range.
The municipality is made up of three major parishes — San Martin, San Gregorio and Aia — together with several other minor boroughs.
