Arama is a town in the Goierri region of the province of Gipuzkoa, within the autonomous community of the Basque Country in northern Spain.
It is one of the smaller municipalities of the Goierri, an inland district of Gipuzkoa situated in the province's south, toward the border with Álava and Navarre. The surrounding area is characterised by green, hilly terrain typical of the Basque interior.
Like other settlements in the region, Arama is a small, rural municipality whose population is counted in the hundreds. It lies within the Basque-speaking area of Gipuzkoa, and Basque is spoken alongside Spanish.
