Anoeta

Spain

Anoeta is a town located in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country, in the north of Spain. It is a small municipality within the comarca of Tolosaldea, situated in the valley of the Oria river, roughly midway between the cities of San Sebastián and Tolosa.

The town is best known for the Anoeta Stadium, a multi-purpose venue that serves as the home ground of the football club Real Sociedad. The stadium, which opened in 1993, also hosts athletics events and has been used for concerts and other large gatherings. It is one of the principal sports facilities in the province of Gipuzkoa.

Anoeta's location in the Oria valley places it within easy reach of both the coast and the inland mountains of the Basque Country. The town retains a compact historic centre and is connected to nearby towns by road and by the regional railway network.
