Amurrio is a town and municipality situated in the northwestern portion of the province of Álava. It is located within the Basque Country region in northern Spain.
The municipality has a population exceeding 10,000 inhabitants. Geographically, it is positioned between the cities of Vitoria-Gasteiz and Bilbao, located at distances of 41 km and 31 km from those respective urban centers.
