Punxín is a municipality in the province of Ourense, within the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain. It belongs to the comarca (district) of O Carballiño, which lies in the western part of the province.
As a Galician municipality, Punxín forms part of the region's dense network of small rural councils, known in Galicia as concellos, which typically comprise a central settlement together with numerous outlying parishes and hamlets.
