Padrón is a concello located in the Province of A Coruña within the Galicia region of Spain. Situated in the comarca of O Sar, the municipality covers an area of 48.4 km² (18.7 mi²). It is positioned approximately 95 km (59 mi) from the city of A Coruña and 23 km (14 mi) from Santiago de Compostela.
The municipality is divided into five parishes: San Pedro de Carcacía, Santa María de Cruces, Santa María de Herbón, Santa María de Iria Flavia, and Santiago de Padrón. As of 2009, the town had a recorded population of 8,968 according to the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE).
