Maside is a municipality in the province of Ourense, within the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain. It forms part of the comarca of O Carballiño.
The municipality is situated in the interior of Ourense province, in a region characterised by a humid Atlantic climate and a landscape of hills, valleys and small river courses typical of inland Galicia. Like much of the surrounding area, it has a rural character, with settlement dispersed across a number of small parishes and villages rather than concentrated in a single urban centre.
Maside lies within the wider O Carballiño comarca, a district known for its thermal springs and for its position between the provincial capital of Ourense and the inland Galician countryside. The municipality is connected to neighbouring towns and to Ourense by road.
