Forcarei is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, within the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain. It forms part of the comarca of Tabeirós – Terra de Montes.
As a Galician municipality, Forcarei belongs to one of Spain's recognised historical nationalities, a region with its own language and distinct administrative structure. Its location in Pontevedra places it in the southwestern part of Galicia, an area characterised by a wet Atlantic climate and a landscape of hills and river valleys.
The municipality is one of several that make up the Tabeirós – Terra de Montes comarca, a grouping used for administrative and statistical purposes within the province.
