Entrimo

Spain

Entrimo is a municipality in the province of Ourense, within the autonomous community of Galicia in north-western Spain. It belongs to the comarca of A Baixa Limia, a district in the southern part of the province near the border with Portugal.

The municipality is situated in the mountainous interior of Galicia, an area characterised by granite hills, river valleys and a climate that is wet and mild by Spanish standards. Its position within A Baixa Limia places it in one of the less densely populated parts of the region, where traditional agriculture and livestock farming have long shaped the landscape.

Entrimo is administered as a municipality, the basic unit of local government in Spain, and is made up of a number of small parishes and settlements rather than a single large urban centre. Like much of rural Galicia, the area retains a distinct cultural identity, including the Galician language, which is co-official in the region alongside Spanish.
