Santa Marta is a municipality in the province of Badajoz, within the autonomous community of Extremadura, Spain. It is located in the western part of the country, near the border with Portugal.
Like many settlements in this part of Extremadura, Santa Marta is a small, rural municipality. The surrounding area is characterized by the typical dehesa landscape of open woodland and pasture common to the region.
