Salvaleón is a municipality in the province of Badajoz, within the autonomous community of Extremadura in western Spain. It lies in the southwestern part of the country, near the border with Portugal.
According to the 2005 census conducted by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), the municipality had a population of 2,172 inhabitants. As a municipality, Salvaleón encompasses both the town itself and the surrounding rural territory.
