Puebla del Prior is a municipality in the province of Badajoz, within the autonomous community of Extremadura in western Spain. It is one of the many small settlements that make up this sparsely populated rural region, which borders Portugal to the west.
According to the 2006 census conducted by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), the municipality had a population of 563 inhabitants. This figure reflects the modest size typical of villages in the Badajoz countryside, where populations are often counted in the hundreds rather than thousands.
As a municipality, Puebla del Prior holds the administrative status of a local entity within the Spanish system of government, encompassing its surrounding area under a single municipal administration. Its location in Extremadura places it within one of Spain's larger but less densely settled autonomous communities.
