Almendralejo

Almendralejo is a town located in the Province of Badajoz within the Extremadura region of Spain. It is situated approximately 45 kilometers southeast of the city of Badajoz, positioned along the primary road and rail routes connecting Mérida and Seville.

As of 2010, the town had a population of 33,975 residents. Historically, the location is noted for being the site of a battle and massacre in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War.
