Porqueres is a municipality in the county of Pla de l'Estany, in the province of Girona, in the autonomous region of Catalonia, Spain. It is made up of several villages rather than a single urban centre.
The most populous of these villages are Mata, Les Pedreres and Miànigues, which together account for the largest part of the municipality's population. Other villages are distributed across the surrounding terrain: Pujarnol lies at the top of the Serra de Sant Patllari mountain range, Porqueres itself is in the west, Usall stands on the northern part of the Lake of Banyoles, and Merlant sits amid the green forests of the Ginestar mountains.
