Darnius is a municipality in the comarca of Alt Empordà, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It lies in the far northeast of the country, within the historic comarca of the Alt Empordà.
The settlement is first documented in a text dated 983, in which its name appears as Darnicibus. Until the beginning of the 20th century, the main economic activity in Darnius was the manufacturing of cork.
