Avinyonet de Puigventós is a municipality in the comarca of Alt Empordà, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It lies in the far northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, within the historic and cultural region of Catalonia.
Administratively it belongs to the Alt Empordà comarca, one of the comarques that make up the province of Girona. As a municipality, it forms part of the local government structure of Catalonia, an autonomous community of Spain.
