Aspa is a village located in the province of Lleida, within the autonomous community of Catalonia in Spain. It is one of the small settlements that make up the comarca of Segrià, in the western part of Catalonia near the border with Aragon.
Like many villages in this part of Lleida, Aspa is set in a dry, semi-arid landscape characterized by flat agricultural land and low hills. The surrounding area is primarily given over to cereal crops, almond and olive groves, and other dryland farming typical of the Ebro basin. The village itself is small, with a compact historic core centered on its church and a handful of traditional stone and brick buildings.
Aspa lies a short distance from the town of Lleida, the provincial capital, and is connected to it and to neighboring municipalities by local roads. Its population has declined over the twentieth century, as with many rural villages in inland Catalonia, though it remains an active community. The village is known locally for its quiet setting and its position along the drylands of the Segrià plain.
