Zamayón is a municipality in the province of Salamanca, within the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It lies in the western part of the Iberian Peninsula, in a region characterised by a continental Mediterranean climate with hot summers and cold winters.
Like many of the small municipalities that make up the Salamanca countryside, Zamayón is a rural settlement whose economy and daily life have traditionally been tied to agriculture and livestock. The province of Salamanca as a whole is known for its historic university city, its Roman and medieval heritage, and its extensive dehesa landscapes of holm oak and cork oak.
As a municipality, Zamayón forms part of the local administrative structure of the province, with its own municipal government. Detailed information on its population, monuments, and history is limited, and the locality remains one of the many small, lesser-known villages of the Castile and León region.
