Val de San Lorenzo is a municipality in the province of León, within the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It is located in the northwestern part of the country, in a region characterised by a continental Mediterranean climate and a landscape of plains and nearby mountains.
According to the 2004 census conducted by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), the municipality had a population of 674 inhabitants, with a population density of 12.89 inhabitants per square kilometre. This low density reflects the small, dispersed nature of settlement typical of many rural municipalities in the province of León.
The town is one of many small municipalities that make up the Leonese countryside, where agriculture and livestock have traditionally formed the basis of the local economy. Its administrative status as a municipality means it encompasses not only the main settlement but also the surrounding rural territory and any smaller dependent villages within its boundaries.
