Turcia is a municipality in the province of León, within the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It lies in the northwestern part of the country, in a region characterised by a continental climate and a landscape of plains and low hills typical of the Leonese countryside.
According to the 2004 census carried out by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), the municipality had a population of 1,216 inhabitants. As with many small municipalities in rural Castile and León, its population is spread across the municipal territory rather than concentrated in a single large urban centre.
Turcia is one of the numerous small municipalities that make up the province of León, a province whose administrative capital is the city of León. The municipality is not to be confused with other places sharing a similar name; it is a distinct local entity within the Leonese municipal system.
