Santoyo is a municipality in Spain, located in the province of Palencia within the autonomous community of Castile and León. It lies in the northern part of the country, in a region characterised by a continental Mediterranean climate and a landscape of rolling plains and farmland typical of the Castilian meseta.
Like many municipalities in this part of Palencia, Santoyo is a small rural settlement whose economy and daily life have traditionally been tied to agriculture. The surrounding countryside is dominated by cereal fields and other dryland crops, reflecting the wider agricultural character of the province.
The municipality forms part of the administrative and cultural framework of Castile and León, one of Spain's largest autonomous communities and one with a strong historical and architectural heritage. Santoyo is one of numerous small municipalities that make up the province of Palencia, a sparsely populated area whose towns and villages are scattered across the plains between the city of Palencia and the surrounding comarcas.
