San Vicente de Arevalo

Spain

San Vicente de Arévalo is a municipality in Spain, located in the province of Ávila within the autonomous community of Castile and León. It lies in the northern part of the province, in the region of La Moraña, a flat agricultural area on the northern meseta of the Iberian Peninsula.

The municipality is one of many small rural settlements that make up the province of Ávila, a province characterised by a large number of sparsely populated villages. Like its neighbours in the surrounding countryside, San Vicente de Arévalo is set amid a landscape of farmland and open plains, with a continental climate featuring cold winters and hot, dry summers.

Its name links it to the nearby town of Arévalo, which lies a short distance to the north and has historically served as the area's main centre. The municipality is administered as a local entity within the Spanish system of municipal government, under the province of Ávila and the regional government of Castile and León.
