Pitiegua is a municipality in Spain, located in the province of Salamanca within the autonomous community of Castile and León. It lies in the western-central part of the country, in a region characterised by the broad plains and agricultural landscapes of the northern Iberian Plateau.
As of 2016, the municipality had a population of 196 inhabitants, according to data from Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE). Like many small municipalities in rural Castile and León, Pitiegua is a minor administrative unit centred on a single settlement, with a population small enough to be counted in the hundreds.
The municipality's status as an independent administrative entity places it among the numerous small municipios that make up the province of Salamanca, a province whose capital, the city of Salamanca, lies to the southwest. Pitiegua's inclusion in the Castile and León region situates it within one of Spain's largest autonomous communities by area.
