Pinilla de Toro

Spain

Pinilla de Toro is a municipality in Spain, located in the province of Zamora within the autonomous community of Castilla y León. It lies in the northwestern part of the country, in a region characterised by a continental Mediterranean climate and a landscape of plains and rolling terrain typical of the Duero basin.

According to the 2004 census conducted by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), the municipality had a population of 344 inhabitants. This figure reflects the small, rural character of the settlement, which is consistent with many municipalities in the sparsely populated province of Zamora.

As a municipality, Pinilla de Toro holds the administrative status that in Spain entails a local governing body, the ayuntamiento, responsible for basic public services. The town's name associates it with the nearby city of Toro, a historic centre in the same province, though Pinilla de Toro is a distinct and separate entity.
