Montejo is a municipality in the province of Salamanca, within the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It is one of the many small municipalities that make up this sparsely populated part of western-central Spain, situated in the broader Duero basin region that characterises much of Salamanca province.
The municipality had a population of 207 inhabitants as of 2016. Like many rural municipalities in Castile and León, Montejo is a small, tightly knit community whose population reflects the wider demographic pattern of the region, where numerous villages and towns of a few hundred residents or fewer are common.
As a municipality, Montejo holds the administrative status of a local entity within the Spanish system of government, with its own municipal administration. Its location in Salamanca province places it within a region known for its historic architecture, agricultural landscape, and continental Mediterranean climate, though the village itself remains a quiet, lesser-known settlement rather than a major destination.
