Jambrina

Spain

Jambrina is a municipality in Spain, located in the province of Zamora within the autonomous community of Castile and León. It lies in the northwestern part of the country, in a region characterised by a continental Mediterranean climate and a landscape of plains and rolling terrain typical of the Duero basin.

According to the 2004 census conducted by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), Jambrina had a population of 221 inhabitants. The municipality is one of many small rural settlements in the province of Zamora, a sparsely populated area where agriculture has traditionally formed the basis of the local economy.

Like other municipalities in the province, Jambrina is administered by a local council (ayuntamiento) and forms part of the wider comarca surrounding the city of Zamora. Its small population and rural character place it among the numerous minor municipalities that make up the Castile and León region.
