Cimanes del Tejar is a municipality in the province of León, within the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It lies in the northwestern part of the country, in a region characterised by the flat terrain and continental climate of the Leonese meseta.
The municipality is a small, rural administrative unit rather than a large urban centre. According to the 2010 census carried out by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), it had a population of 825 inhabitants. Like many municipalities in this part of Castile and León, it consists of a principal settlement together with outlying villages and scattered hamlets across its municipal territory.
The name "del Tejar" refers to a tile works or brick kiln, reflecting a traditional local association with the production of roof tiles and bricks from clay, a common craft in the region. The municipality's small population and agricultural surroundings place it among the many sparsely populated communities that make up the Leonese countryside.
